PROTEST ART
As a way to express my boiling outrage at the state of the world and rise of fascism - from the genocide in Gaza, the erosion of people's civil rights, the cruelty and exploitation of children, the violence of ICE and the persecution of peaceful citizens who are protesting peacefully against genocide and human rights abuses, the Epstein Files, the brutality against women and the surge in sexual violence against women and children (I'll stop there because the list is very long) - I have been creating art that helps me to process these intense and heavily energetic feelings, distilling instead into the page instead of into my nervous system. At least providing some short temporary relief.
Some protest art comes in the form of cartoons, so for more, please look over there, thank you.

I hand-drew this piece in Procreate as a response to how I was – and sadly still am – feeling about the genocide of the Palestinian people at the hands of the Israeli occupation. My heart is broken for the thousands of families impacted, and as a mum I feel very distressed when just one child is endangered or hurt, let alone the numbers that have been killed and injured in Gaza.
I feel very honoured (my enduring thanks to the editor, Ophelia) that this artwork was chosen to be included in the May 2026 issue of Wildscape Literary Journal, entitled calm // storm. You can view my entry here, but please take the time to read the whole issue from start to finish as intended, the poetry, fiction and art will entwine you and you're guaranteed to get lost in a whole different world - for a while....

Wearing his blue bunny hat, five-year-old Minnesota-based Liam Ramos made headlines when ICE took him into detention with his father in January 2026. Having been horrified by the cruel and brutal way ICE have taken over the streets in America, I drew this artwork, including the horrifying data of the thousands of babies and children that have been taken by ICE into detention just over a nine-month period in 2025.
I was so pleased when this Ice Ice Baby artwork was selected as part of the "Good Things for All Minnesota" project by US art shop Anthology. I was one of many artists contributing to five postcard packs from which thousands of dollars have been (and still are being) raised and sent to Minnesota communities for mutual and legal aid supporting those affected by ICE.
Deliveries can only be made to the USA, but if you would like to buy one of these packs, please link to Anthology here (Ice Ice Baby is in Pack B).

Created in outrage at the futile murder of 37-year-old mother Renee Good by ICE agent Jonathan Ross (who is now, unbelievably, back on the job). As she was trying to drive away peacefully this is what the ICE agent shouted at her before he shot her in the head. I didn't have any words so I drew this instead.
