CARTOONS

I create hand-drawn cartoons that combine humour, human experience and social or political commentary.

Below is a selection which ranges from playful word-based pieces to satirical and political illustrations that deliver powerful messages with clarity and wit.

To licence any of my cartoons you can visit CartoonStock or reach out to me directly.

If you would like a bespoke cartoon as a unique gift (link to see testimonial), I would love to collaborate, so please get in touch.

Hand-drawn editorial cartoon of bees in a classroom illustrating the idiom Bee’s Knees by Frances Marcellin

This one-panel cartoons shows a literal interpretation of the idiom with bees in a classroom setting to highlight language and word-play.

Hand-drawn cartoon of painter dipping brush in tea instead of water digitally illustrated by Frances Marcellin

This light-hearted cartoon captures the relatable moment every artist knows – that moment the paintbrush ends up in the tea instead of the water jar. Hand-drawn digitally, it blends everyday humour with a painter’s perspective, turning a small studio mishap into a funny visual story.

Caricature of Donald Trump

This caricature of Donald Trump was created in response to his comments made on 7 April 2026 where he threatened that "a whole civilisation will die tonight" if Iran did not make a deal.

How Are You Doing? is a four-panel cartoon that I created as part of the 28-day Comic Illustration course with Inkygoodness. The brief was to create a four-panel comic to fit inside a square (1080 x 1080 pixels) that's inspired by your own experiences and how you relate to the world. I had been struggling to continue my normal life of working, being a mum to my four kids, looking after my mum who has dementia and keeping up with friendships while people suffer so much in Gaza, in the hands of ICE, through the impact of the Epstein Files, and so on, so I wanted to create a comic that reflected the emotional dissonance all this has on my mental health (and I know I'm not alone!).

IMG_4046.JPEG

A satirical one-panel cartoon that demonstrates Israel's influence over the US government. There are many sources behind this piece, but this article in The Intercept makes for effective explanatary reading if you wish to delve further into this concept: https://theintercept.com/2024/10/24/aipac-spending-congress-elections-israel.

Hand-drawn political cartoon of Donald Trump with finger on bomb labelled The Best Bombs

This political cartoon features Donald Trump confidently telling J. D. Vance, “We’ll tell Iran we want peace,” while resting his finger on a button labelled “the best bombs.” The hand-drawn digital illustration uses sharp satire to comment on the contradictions between political rhetoric and military power. Bold and thought-provoking it blends humour and critique in equal measure.

Hand-drawn political cartoon of kids with Israel and Iran flags fighting while Trump and Rutte watch

Inspired by comments made in June 2025, when NATO’s Mark Rutte likened Donald Trump to a “daddy” figure, this political cartoon visualises Trump’s own description of world leaders “fighting like hell” like two schoolyard children. Two kids wearing t-shirts with the Israeli and Iranian flags wrestle over a bomb, while Rutte says, “Don’t fight boys, come to daddy,” and Trump replies, “They don’t know what the f*** they are doing.” Hand-drawn digitally, this sharp editorial cartoon satirises the language of global diplomacy and the absurd power dynamics behind it.

Two-panel hand-drawn editorial cartoon highlighting female plantation workers coerced into hysterectomies

This two-panel editorial cartoon highlights the plight of female plantation workers in India who are coerced into hysterectomies to keep their jobs. Hand-drawn digitally, it is a social issue cartoon designed to communicate a difficult topic clearly and powerfully.

I create strong, visually engaging illustrations for magazines, newspapers, and editorial publications, helping art directors and editors convey complex stories quickly and effectively.

Hand-drawn educational cartoon showing seahorses using camouflage to catch prey for children’s learning

This amusing six-panel editorial cartoon was drawn for an audience of young readers to teach them how the Pygmy Seahorse can camouflage itself to avoid predators and to catch pray!

The seahorse is positive about itself and its characteristics to affirm in kids the concepts of body positivity and self-confidence.
